Thankful Thursdays

I saw this on another blog and thought it might be a good idea for me. Every Thursday I'm going to try to post about people, places, things I'm thankful for. No whining, bitching, moaning. Just the good stuff. The stuff that reminds me just how lucky and blessed I truly am.

I'm thankful for my friends. I truly do have some of the greatest girls who are always in my corner, whether it be to support a decision or to give me a reality check. My closest, dearest friends have had to put up with me in so many ways, the good and the bad and the ugly, but it's when they had to deal with the bad and, especially, the ugly is why they're are the ones I love dearly. I've never claimed to be the greatest friend. In the not-too-distant past, I was too busy and preoccupied with things in my life to make the time to hang out or even return a phone call. But, really, was I that busy or just not being a good friend? And how were they supposed to know I was going through a difficult time if I didn't tell them? I try harder now to make sure they know I care about them greatly. We all have busy lives, and many of these girls I've known since grade school and middle school, so obviously our lives have changed...husbands, boyfriends, babies, jobs, school, no more disposable income. Sometimes in the adjustment of all the new we push out the old until we can find some sort of balance. I'm thankful for the patience my friends have had along the way, waiting for me to find the balance.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my page today. Girlfriends are the best. Here's the thing about a great girlfriend: if you are going through something so totally cruddy that you don't bother to call them and fill them in, they understand, and they are there for you when you come out of your cloud. Or, they are there to PULL you out of that cloud, or mud puddle as it may be. And then they are there to help you laugh about it later.
